Ski Goggles
Ski/snowboard goggles are a must-have for every mountain sports enthusiast. So-called goggles.
The most important thing when buying a goggle is the fit on the one hand and the quality of the goggles on the other.
A distinction is made between the shape of the lenses and the thickness of the coating/mirroring.
There are two types of lenses: cylindrical and spherical. Cylindrical lenses are easier to work with and to buy because the lens is coated once and curved once.
However, this does not mean that cheaper is worse. The glass is easier to treat than a spherical lens and the optics appear somewhat distorted. Ski/snowboard goggles should always be cleaned with the microfibre cloth provided. Spherical lenses are curved twice and therefore have a rounder shape. This means that the optics are not distorted when looking through them and the light/sunlight is refracted better. In addition, the lens is harder and usually polarised or equipped with Carl Zeiss glass as the icing on the cake.
Ski goggles cost an average of 70 to 190 euros. However, there are special goggles with polarisation or magnets in the frame to change the lens as easily and quickly as possible.
There is also a difference in the colour or mirroring of the lens. The brighter the lens, i.e. yellow or pink, the more suitable it is for bad weather. If the lens is dark in colour (black, silver or gold), it is perfect for good weather.
Let's move on to the fit. First and foremost, glasses should fit comfortably. Normally so that when you have the glasses on, you can't get your finger between your nose and the glasses. This ensures that everything is well sealed.
